Isabella Esler, a fresh-faced graduate from Archbishop Mitty High School, is making a grand return to her hometown, San Jose. But this isn’t just any homecoming. Esler is returning as a star of the hit Broadway musical, “Beetlejuice.”

From San Jose to Stardom
Esler steps into the shoes of Lydia, a character immortalized by Winona Ryder in the 1988 film version of “Beetlejuice.” This touring production is set to dazzle audiences at San Jose’s Center for the Performing Arts for six unforgettable nights, from August 1-6. Beetljuice tickets are available from $33 – $153.
Esler’s rise to stardom is nothing short of remarkable. She honed her acting and singing chops in numerous Children’s Musical Theater San Jose (CMTSJ) productions over the years. “I was convinced I was going to college,” she admits. “Then this whole thing happened.”
A Talent Recognized
Those who’ve known Esler and witnessed her talent in CMTSJ productions, ranging from “Once Upon a Mattress” to “American Idiot,” aren’t surprised by her success. “Bella is definitely one of those people who stood out to me for many, many years,” says Dana Zell, CMTSJ’s managing director.
