Great news for all musical theatre enthusiasts! The much-anticipated tour of Broadway’s current revival of ‘Funny Girl’ has found its leading lady in the talented newcomer, Katerina McCrimmon. This Miami-born, Cuban-American actress, who recently graced the stage in the ensemble of ‘The Light in the Piazza’ at New York City Center Encores!, is set to take on the iconic role of Fanny Brice. 🎉
A Star-Studded Cast
Joining McCrimmon on this theatrical journey is Grammy-winning singer Melissa Manchester, known for her hit “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” who will be stepping into the shoes of Mrs. Brice. The cast also includes Stephen Mark Lukas as Nick Arnstein, Izaiah Montaque Harris as Eddie Ryan, and Walter Coppage as Florenz Ziegfeld, among others. The full cast list is yet to be announced.

A Broadway Classic
‘Funny Girl’, which made its Broadway debut in 1964, is a beloved musical featuring a score by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill and a book by Isobel Lennart. This revival has been newly adapted by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein. The original production catapulted a young Barbra Streisand to international fame, and she reprised her stage performance in the 1968 film adaptation, winning an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.
A Musical Spectacle
The production, which opened on Broadway on April 24, 2022, at the August Wilson Theatre, is directed by Michael Mayer with choreography by Ellenore Scott and tap choreography by Ayodele Casel. The tour will feature much of the Broadway creative team, promising a spectacular musical experience for all. 🎶
