Great News for all Wicked fans! Over 500,000 new tickets will be released for the hit musical, which is now booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until May 24, 2019.
Wicked is currently the 7th and 15th longest-running show currently playing in the West End, and in West End theatre history respectively. It’s not surprising that this beloved and the ever-popular musical has attracted over 8.5 million viewers across 5000 performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Consequent to their success in stage performance, Wicked has won 100 major awards including the coveted Oliver Audience Award in the UK (twice), and 10 WhatsOnStage Awards (fan-voted).
As if entertaining audiences and putting a smile on our faces is not enough, the Wicked team is dedicated to philanthropic exploits through their Wicked: For Good programme that supports UK charities. Along with the news regarding their extended West End run, Wicked also announced a year-long partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) in 2018.
Wicked is basically the untold story of Oz according to Gregory Maguire’s best-selling novel that builds on L. Frank Baum’s original narrative, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The West End production features Sophie Evans (Glinda), Maria Coyne & Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda), Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Laura Pick (standby for Elphaba), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Jack Lansbury (Boq), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), and Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond). The musical also features the creative work of multiple-Award-winning composer, Stephen Schwatz.
