Are you ready to defy mind-numbing gravity? The forthcoming special “Wicked in Concert” from PBS will be hosted by two original stars – Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth – from the musical Broadway, as reported by Deadline.

Other familiar faces that have been lined for the exclusive night performance include Tony award winners like Rita Moreno, Gavin Creel, Ali Stroker, and Cynthia Erivo. Jennifer Nettles, a Grammy award winner, also stars in the musical. Fans that have been following the show can look forward to hearing their favorite soundtracks like “As Long As You’re Mine,” “For Good,” “No Good Deed,” “Wonderful,” “Popular,” “Defying Gravity,” and “The Wizard and I.”

“This concert is a way of celebrating the reopening of Broadway shows after being shut down for 16 months due to the Coronavirus,” according to Deadline.
“The exclusive show will come with new and reimagined musical compositions that have been composed by conductor and music director, Luke Frazier especially for the broadcast.”
There will be a live screening of the performances at multiple locations like New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Wicked is a film that debuted in 2003 on Broadway is now the fifth-longest show production in the history of Broadway. This special event will be shown and screened as eager fans wait for the long-expected return of the show to stages. The show will be aired all over the country at 9 p.m. EST on August 29 on many PBS outlets.
